Copy category labels from one table to another

I wish to use Wizard to analyze an ongoing monthly survey of some 120,000 records.  I have entered the category labels for all the variables I wish to analyse.  When the next month's data is produced, I download it as R or Tab and import same as a new table.   When I try to copy the category labels from the first month table into the next month, nada.  (Table - Copy Other Table's Category labels).Any reason why it does not work?
