Ahoy Wizards!

For the next release of Wizard, I'm adding support for a number of new file formats. File-import code is hard to get right, so please contact me if you have data in the following formats and would like to help me test out the new routines:

  * XLSX spreadsheets

  * Numbers spreadsheets

  * Compressed RData [i.e. RData that does not currently open with Wizard Pro]

  * SAS binary files (.sas7bdat)

  * Plain-text + SAS commands (.sas)

Testing duties will consist of attempting to import files and sending me crash or bug reports as you encounter problems. Preference given to those hoarding a large number of small files. Detail-oriented personality a plus!

Also... if there's a file format not listed above you'd like to see supported in Wizard, now is the time to ask! For this next release I want to make working with other programs as seamless as possible, and I need your feedback to know what programs people are using alongside Wizard.

Thank you!

Evan

I would be interested in testing.  My focus areas would be XLSX and Numbers.

I am also willing to test all file formats, including XLSX and ODF (as used by LibreOffice and OpenOffice) and R.

Hi Frans,

Wizard now includes XLSX and R support -- they are not in dire need of testing, but you're welcome to put them through their paces if you'd like. I will keep you in mind if I ever add ODF support to Wizard.

Best,

Evan
