I just wanted to check with you that WittyTwitter is only a front-end
for Twitter.

All the messages stay on Twitter's servers, correct?

That is correct. It is referred to as "Software + Service" throughout the
community. Witty is the software, Twitter provides the service(s) for Witty
to be able to pull information out of Twitter's servers to display locally
on the client without the need for having to visit the website constantly.
