During my time at MN, I have played fierce heroines, planned prom, made a difference in my community, and written shocking journalistic articles to rival those of Woodward and Bernstein (just kidding, Mrs. Crotzer). I have celebrated with my family, danced with my friends, and belly-laughed with my teachers. Upon graduation, I will leave knowing that I spent high school living fully and well.

The Berklee City Music High School Academy program offers students theory, master classes, and ensemble classes after school. Most classes take place on weekdays between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. or Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Programming occurs from September through May. Classes are taught by Berklee and Berklee City Music faculty, and students will play genres ranging from rock to jazz to R&B. Students participate in multiple concerts throughout the year in addition to student-run events.

All scholars have access to performance opportunities, workshops with visiting artists, master classes, and other valuable resources on the Berklee campus. With year-round instruction, expert faculty, and a comprehensive curriculum, City Music Boston gives scholars the tools and support they need to reach their full potential.

The High School Academy begins in September and runs through the first weekend in May. The program is closed for winter break from mid-December through mid-January. The academy meets three times per week for 24 weeks and follows the Berklee academic calendar and Boston Public Schools calendar. If either institution is closed due to a holiday, break, or weather, then we do not have programming on that date.

In addition to the program instruction, each semester students have performance opportunities at our program's winter showcase and completion ceremonies. Students may also attend master classes, jam sessions, college workshops, community-building events, concerts, and various other performance opportunities.

Submit the online application, along with a music reference and link to a performance video, by the application deadline. Applicants who submit the application, reference, and performance video will be scheduled for an audition.

You can apply to CIM as a first-semester freshman if you have received or will receive a high school/secondary school diploma, GED or AP/IB diploma by the summer before your first year of attending college full-time. If you have been fully enrolled in a college for at least a semester after high school/secondary school graduation, you are considered a transfer applicant. Transcript requirements for first-time undergraduate applicants are as follows:

Your class status is determined by your audition, transcripts, and admission examinations. Exams in music theory and ear-training are administered online before February 1. Piano proficiency is evaluated for class placement during the orientation week before classes begin. Transcript requirements for transfer applicants are as follows:

Recommendation letters are due January 15. All conservatory applications must include two confidential recommendation letters from people unrelated to you who are qualified to attest to your strengths and weaknesses as a musician. In the application, you will provide the names and email addresses of those who have agreed to provide recommendations.

Applicants auditioning for the Young Artist Program, Bachelor of Music, Artist Certificate, Master of Music, or Doctor of Musical Arts programs will take an online theory examination after prescreening decisions are released in late December. The online theory exam is due February 1.

We do not want an application fee to be the reason you decide to take CIM off your list. Through CIM's application portal, eligible first-time freshman and undergraduate transfer applicants may request and indicate their intention to apply for a fee waiver through NACAC. Once you've alerted CIM of your intention, you must complete the following steps:

CIM grants degree credit and placement in advanced courses based on the results of College Board Advanced Placement (AP) examinations, successful completion of International Baccalaureate (IB) courses, and CIM-administered admission examinations. Appropriate Case Western Reserve University departments also make credit and placement determinations.

Undergraduate applicants interested in the dual degree program between CIM and Case Western Reserve University should only apply to CIM. You may submit additional letters of recommendation (e.g. high school counselor and academic teacher) within the CIM application.

Nearly 100% of our enrolled students receive some form of financial assistance, whether it's federal or institutional. You'll work with our financial aid team to explore your options for combining loan, gift and work-study assistance to help you manage the cost of attending CIM.

Learning Opportunities
Throughout the school year, workshops led by theater professionals help students grow. While some sessions focus on performance skills, others focus on technical areas such as lighting design, scenic design, and stage management. Many opportunities connect students directly with Broadway professionals.

Professional Review
Select participating musical productions receive a professional review. Panels of performing arts educators and professionals (adjudicators) attend exhibiting schools' musicals and provide feedback on individual actors' performances, orchestra, set, lighting, costumes and more. Teachers and students use these insights to make their next show even stronger. Schools participating year over year have seen dramatic transformations in skill, student enthusiasm, and community support.

Cherry Creek Schools has launched a Back to School Hub, a one-stop online resource to make it easier for parents and guardians to get the information and complete forms necessary to start the school year.
