WITS API IN R - URGENT HELP NEEDED

Hi, 

Has anyone here managed to get the WITS API running in R to call out UNCOMTRADE  DATA? I have looked over several documentation that was provided via the site, but have found it quite difficult to use, if anyone has any R code that it has functioning - i would be very appreciative if you could show me how it works,
