converting downloaded data into Number format

Hi,

I have downloaded Comtrade data using Eccel option, I do not succeed in coverting the values under the heading Trade Values 1000 USD into Number format. 

Could you please help me?

I guess you only have to select the cells, "format", and change the number option from "Text" to something else (e.g. comma separated thousands, whatever you prefer.

In Stata, destring should perform the same task.
