Hi Everyone,

I was wondering how you feel about challenges.

Simply put, I believe that one of the key elements of overcoming any
obstacles is how we feel about them. If we can take a step back and
let go of our judgements they stop being either good or bad, it can
take the pressure off them as it releases the victim mode. They
ultimately become empowering as it gives us the opportunity to really
shine and reveal hidden strengths. As we journey through, we pick up
many gifts along the way and think yippee, look what I can achieve.
We’re never given more than we can handle, the tougher the lesson can
seem, the stronger we really are.

Theres so much more to say, I’d love to hear your views x

Love and blessings

G I Gurdjeiff, the great mystical teacher of the early 20th century,
whose teachings were, it is thought in part based on Sufism, said,

'There is no such thing as a problem, without a gift for you in its'
hands'.

Personally though, i do find it hard to hold that in mind when
confronted by some of life's more tricky challenges.

hi

recently there was an article about something similar in 'cygnus
review' ( written by the man who wrote 'the gentle art of blessing'.)
he had been having a hard time with his son and a freind had
recommended a hawian prayer which basically recognises our
connectedness and the challenges that can bring..sorry if this is at
all vague..but basically it was ' i take full responsibility. i am
sorry. forgive me' he said it made a huge change in his family

we often bring our challenges with us/ to us i think and even when we
have no idea why or what they are exactly this prayer can help. we
take responsibility for ourselves and our actions/thoughts/words/
deeds? ; ) and that makes a difference.

it really struck a cord with me so i am trying it out. i deffinately
feel some release and lightening when i say it (like when the kids are
killing me screaming in the car or my husband is having a 'side show
bob' episode and i have no idea what started him off!! i just mentally
affirm it to myself from my heart and centre)

i really believe that we are no longer needing to learn through fear,
trial and sufferance and that all can be learnt through, in and of
love, so i am doing all i can to shift old patterns and beliefs to
allow me to do this..

think i may have strayed off the point..?
end of a long day!!

love to all x

I wonder if you might be thinking of Ho'oponopono - a Hawaiian form of
healing that recognises our total interconnectedness & mutual
responsibility for all things ? (you can Google it)

I haven't tried it rigorously or by its name in the sense that I
understand it could be practised.

However, part of my own personal spiritual practice/consciousness has
been derived from the sense of the Russian Pilgrim, the practice of
the presence of God, perpetually.

That for me has meant, to seek to be open, embrace reality, and accept
my/our responsibility for all things. When I open my mind to that
vibrational dimension, I do notice that things happen magically (eg,
my earlier posts about Heaven on the Underground and the other one
about being missed by a roof tile).

Everything is connected, and everything is one. Even so, separating
off a different or special time for meditation or prayer can create a
separateness; so my feeling is that the prayer of the Heart is best
when it is perpetual, no separation from the everyday, which then
evokes and pushes us into that dimension of univeral healing.

I could be wrong, but I think the many paths of divinity converge,
cross over in an permeable web/seam. Such that different names of
different practices are simply different terms for a common unity.

I feel that this is what the Angels wish for us, and encourage in us;
that too is being a little like them, in their constant, inseparable
unity with, and service of, the Divine.

Namaste
Paul

Hi Paul and Rachel,
I went on to that Hawian site you mentioned, it really is good, I read
the newsletter and found it stimulating. I understand what you mean
about forgiving and accepting. It does open doors.

love Deborah. xx

There is also the concept of 'radical forgiveness', which is based on
the fact that all is illusion, and here for our learning, hence any
slight, or offence, or wound, is just part of that 'great dance', and
so, embraces the response, that it we feel wounded, 'nothing
happened', really, thus it removes the concept of blame, including
blame of self.

It is in a sense a path of total forgiveness, once gain, because we
are all connected; any hurt we hold onto, hurts us, ultimately. Once
again thuogh, not an easy path !!

i totally agree about all being one..one divinity with many aspects or
reflections..

i also looked up some sites re the above. it really helped me to see
the oneness issue more fully as i understand it as a principle but not
always as a living one.

and the reality thing can be tricky too..

a constant awareness of self and prayer/communion is not always easy
but it for myself it helps me keep centre and reminds me of who i am

thank you paul for your wisdom and insight : )
keep on shining

on this subject...Richard Bach wrote 'One'.

I didn't get it first time, years ago.
In fact, gave my copy away to my mum, who dutifully kept it.
Was thinking some months ago that I must buy that 'One' book as I've travelled much further on my spiritual journey now.
And the very next day I was at her house, and there it was on the shelf.
With my name in it.

Awesome.

lots of love Cx

Thanks, Angelic, Rachel, Cinthia

Re: One

Goes to show that there are no accidents, the Universe lies in wait to
answer our call. Yet it is a delicate, vibrant responsiveness, waiting
to be activated by our own receptiveness to listen to, hear and be the
One in our hearts

Richard Bach also wrote Illusions - the Adventures of a Reluctant
Messiah; have you come across that ? In it there is reference to a
Messiah's Handbook, which has recently been published as a small book
in its own right. I could say more about that if anyone interested.
Lovely pithy spiritual sayings in it.

Yet also I agree, none of this is easy. So many who profess spiritual
teaching today seem to bypass the long arduous 'slog' of being
prepared to be open to that which is truly Real, and the toll that
accompanies it, the necessary work on our emotions and relationships.
Many of the venerable saints of all religions had very basic, day to
day work that sustained them and kept them grounded. Jesus was a
carpenter, for example (or possibly a stone mason as I saw on a recent
TV programme)

Our beingness of One is actually the only explanation that makes any
sense of anything in the world, in some ways ! x

Thanks again for permitting me to share in this forum.
