Job Title: Sr. Lead Maximo Business Analyst

Duration: 6+ Months

Location: The Woodlands, TX

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 12+ years of experience as a Maximo Business Analyst or Functional Consultant.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading migration or upgrade projects from Maximo 7.6 to MAS 8/9.
  • In-depth understanding of Asset, Work, Inventory, and Procurement Management modules.
  • Strong documentation and process modeling skills using Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools.
  • Ability to translate business needs into functional specifications and clearly communicate with technical teams.
  • Experience in Energy, Utilities, Power Generation, or Oil & Gas industries preferred.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Business Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Lead workshops and discovery sessions with business stakeholders, asset management teams, and IT to capture functional and operational requirements.
  • Analyze and document existing Maximo 7.6 business processes, configurations, and customizations.
  • Identify gaps, dependencies, and opportunities for process optimization in the MAS 9 environment.
  • Develop Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Design Documents (FDD), and Use Cases aligned with IBM MAS 9 functionality.

 

Migration Planning & Validation

  • Support the assessment of the current Maximo environment and assist in mapping data, workflows, and roles to MAS 9 equivalents.
  • Define and document data migration requirements, including master and transactional data considerations.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system validation, ensuring all functional and business requirements are met.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining a requirements traceability matrix (RTM).

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business users, project management, and the Maximo technical team.
  • Facilitate decision-making sessions and provide clarity on business process priorities and impacts.
  • Support communication and adoption plans to help end-users transition smoothly to MAS 9.
  • Create and deliver business process documentation, SOPs, and training materials for new MAS 9 functionality.

 

Continuous Improvement & Governance

  • Recommend improvements to business processes leveraging MAS 9 capabilities (e.g., Work Centers, Manage, Monitor).
  • Support standardization and compliance efforts across Maximo environments (e.g., Nuclear, Transmission, Distribution).
  • Participate in governance discussions to ensure ongoing alignment with enterprise asset management strategies.
