We are seeking an experienced SAP Service and Asset Manager (SSAM) Consultant to support mobile asset management transformation within the Utilities sector (Electric, Gas, or Water). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) and S/4HANA EAM, along with hands-on experience configuring and deploying SAP SSAM to field technicians for inspection, maintenance, and service processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or support the end-to-end implementation of SAP SSAM, including design, configuration, testing, and deployment for utility field operations.
  • Integrate SSAM with SAP S/4HANA or ECC back-end systems (EAM/PM, Customer Service, FSM) and ensure seamless offline/online data synchronization.
  • Design and configure mobile work orders, notifications, measurement points, inspections, and GIS integration for utility assets (e.g., poles, transformers, pipelines, valves, meters).
  • Collaborate with functional teams (PM, CS, MM, HR, and Finance) to ensure end-to-end process alignment across work management and mobile execution.
  • Work with SAP BTP and Mobile Services, OData, and REST APIs for SSAM extensions, custom business logic, and field data capture enhancements.
  • Provide technical and functional support during testing (UAT), training, and go-live phases.
  • Collaborate with client IT and operations teams to define security roles, device management, and mobile deployment strategy (iOS/Android).
  • Optimize SSAM performance, data volumes, and synchronization for large field workforces.
  • Support integration with GIS/ESRI, SAP GEF, SAP FSM, and Primavera P6 where applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in SAP PM/EAM or related modules within Utilities (Electric, Gas, or Water).
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing or supporting SAP SSAM (minimum one full-cycle deployment preferred).
  • Proficiency in S/4HANA EAM configuration (functional locations, equipment, task lists, maintenance plans, notifications, orders).
  • Working knowledge of SAP Cloud Platform Mobile Services, OData integration, and Fiori Launchpad configuration.
  • Strong understanding of field maintenance processes and asset hierarchies in utilities.
  • Familiarity with SAP GEF, SAP FSM, SAP Work Manager, or Syclo mobile apps is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge business requirements and technical solutions.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with linear asset management, spatial enablement (GEF/ESRI), and network asset visualization.
  • Exposure to IoT integrations, predictive maintenance, and condition monitoring in SAP.
  • Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) tools such as Intune or MobileIron.
  • SAP Certification in EAM, PM, or SSAM (advantageous).
  • Ability to work in Agile delivery environments and collaborate with offshore/onsite teams.

Typical Deliverables

  • SSAM blueprint and design documents
  • Configuration and integration specifications
  • Test scripts and user guides
  • Mobile app deployment plan and field enablement documentation
  • Go-live and post-implementation support
