Required Skills & Qualifications
- Mendix Certification: Advanced or Expert level certification is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years professional Mendix experience (5+ preferred) with at least 7 years of total software development experience.
- Programming: Working knowledge of Java is required for custom module development.
- Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills with a focus on high-performance application design.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a fully remote, team-oriented environment.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mendix Developer to design and maintain high-performance low-code applications for the Teachers' Retirement System (TRS). This role requires a developer who bridges the gap between rapid low-code delivery and traditional software engineering. You will lead the design of new features, ensure application responsiveness, and maintain code quality through rigorous code reviews and DevOps best practices. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for staying current with Mendix versioning and driving architectural improvements.
Technical Core & Responsibilities
Mendix Application Development
- Low-Code Engineering: Design and develop high-quality, scalable applications using the Mendix Studio Pro environment.
- Feature Deployment: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features for both web and mobile platforms.
- Code Quality: Participate in peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback to maintain high standards of logic and performance.
- Technical Maintenance: Ensure the ongoing responsiveness and quality of existing Mendix applications, performing upgrades as the platform evolves.
Full-Stack & Integration
- Java Logic: Utilize Java for complex back-end logic and custom Mendix actions where standard widgets or microflows are insufficient.
- Web & Mobile: Deliver seamless user experiences across various form factors, ensuring cross-platform compatibility.
- Software Principles: Apply strong software development methodologies (OOPS, Clean Code) within the low-code framework.
DevOps & Agile Delivery
- CI/CD Integration: Leverage knowledge of DevOps practices and tools to automate testing and deployment workflows.
- Agile Participation: Work within an Agile/Scrum framework, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Architecture Upkeep: Stay updated on the latest Mendix releases and features to ensure the technical stack remains competitive and secure.
