Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team onsite in Detroit. This role focuses on enhancing the reliability, scalability, and automation of our cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for provisioning AWS services, automating repetitive tasks via scripting, and implementing robust observability solutions. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring that our auto insurance systems meet high availability and security standards through proactive monitoring and incident response.
Key Responsibilities & Required Skills
Cloud Infrastructure & Automation
- AWS Services: Hands-on management of core services including IAM, Lambda, ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate cloud provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation.
- Scripting: Write Python and Bash scripts to automate operational tasks and reduce manual toil.
- System Design: Design scalable and highly available architectures that align with business and security requirements.
Observability & Incident Management
- Monitoring: Design and implement advanced alerts and dashboards using the Dynatrace observability tool.
- Security & Compliance: Utilize AWS CloudWatch to implement logging and monitoring strategies that ensure system integrity.
- Incident Response: Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide on-call support to maintain service level objectives (SLOs).
Mandatory Skills (Must be on Resume)
- AWS (Deep service-level expertise)
- Ansible & Terraform (IaC proficiency)
- Python (Automation scripting)
Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with developers and stakeholders to deliver seamless cloud solutions.
- Document architecture, design decisions, and operational procedures for both internal and client reference.
