Job Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical and technically proficient Python Capital Markets Business Analyst to join a hybrid team, requiring 3 days onsite in Jersey City, NJ. This role is crucial, sitting at the intersection of finance and technology, and demands strong hands-on Python programming skills to support data analysis, reporting, and automation. The candidate must possess a deep understanding of complex financial instruments, risk/P&L calculations, and regulatory compliance (Volcker Rule, MiFID II).
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with trading, risk, and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to capital markets products and risk analytics.
- Python Development: Develop and maintain Python-based tools and scripts to support data analysis, reporting, and automation of business processes.
- Financial Expertise: Analyze and interpret complex financial instruments including interest rate swaps, FX products, bonds, and repos.
- Risk & P&L: Work closely with risk and finance teams to understand and validate P&L and risk calculations for various asset classes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Support the implementation and monitoring of regulatory requirements such as Volcker Rule, MiFID II, and other global financial regulations.
- Solution Delivery: Translate business needs into functional specifications and work with development teams for successful delivery, testing, and validation.
Top Skills Required (Mandatory)
- Python Skills: Strong Python programming skills with the ability to manipulate large datasets and automate analytical workflows.
- Financial Instruments: In-depth understanding of various financial instruments (Interest rate swap, FX products, bond, repo, etc.).
- Risk & P/L Knowledge: Good understanding of how risk and P/L is calculated for the above set of instruments.
- Regulatory Familiarity: Knowledge of various regulatory requirements – Volcker, MiFID, etc.
