Creating beaded jewellery is a fun and creative way to expand your design repertoire. There are so many different options when it comes to beading and a whole variety of tools to help you create whatever your imagination thinks of!

This is a handy pack of useful pliers with comfortable handles in a zip-up case. The pack contains all the pliers that you are likely to need for jewellery making and bead stringing. It includes snipe nose (also known as chain nose), flat nose, round nose and bent nose pliers as well as a pair of side cutters, making it an excellent buy for jewellers and beading enthusiasts alike.

Pliers are one of the most useful tools you will need when making any type of jewellery, the different nose options available in this pack will come in really handy for different projects, there's nothing worse than getting halfway through a project and not having the right tools to complete it.

You will find that the different pliers will have different uses, the snipe nose are great for opening and closing jump rings, the round nose for making connections and wire wrapping and the cutters you can use to cut wires threads nice and close to keep your work looking nice and tidy. Read our advice page on pliers and their uses.

Small things have a tendency to roll away and disappear. This mat will stop this from happening, if you drop a small bead on to the mat it will just stay put - saving you lots of time and hassle crawling around looking for that bead that got away!

Bead Board What is it?The bead board is a must have for beaders and is developed for the beader on the go. Use it to lay out your jewellery designs and make any changes easily before you string them.

Simply place your chosen beads onto the board and select the findings you need to plan your design carefully. It also has a removable lid, so you can take it on the go, keeping all your beads findings and design in place so you can come back to it easily.

You can simply flatten crimps using snipe nose pliers or flat nose pliers but this can sometimes cause the edges to be sharp and untidy. These pliers have cleverly shaped jaws so they have a 2 step process which creates small, neat crimps every time for a professional finish.

Meant for use with crimps with a diameter of up to 2mm and forms a finished crimp with a diameter less than 1.2mm, meaning it can be hidden within a clam shell style bead tip or even slipped inside a large hole bead.

This handy gadget eliminates the need to rethink your choice of thread or change your design by enabling you to gently enlarge the holes in stone, glass, ceramic beads as well as pearls. you can adjust any of your beads to fit a wider range of beading threads and cords.

Simply secure your bead in to position, insert the reamer in to the drill hole and twist, we recommend that you twist until you reach the centre point and then turn the bead and work it from the other side to create an even hole throughout the bead. Used with water to lubricate and just a couple of gentle 'twists' is all it usually takes.

The key to beading tools is in their description. They are to/ form
/beads for holding in stones. The beads are raised by using a graver.
I use a round graver ranging from a #50 up depending on the size of
bead needed. After raising the bead (which holds the stone in place)
the beading tool is then used to form or shape the bead in a nice
round shape. They can also be used to form a decorative bead or line
of beads and to finish out millgrain lines where the standard
millgrain tool will not work. Up against prongs and other edges
where the wheel of the tool just will not go. I never use a beading
tool to set or tighten stones that is what the graver is for. The
beading tool is for shaping and forming. Just starting out I would go
ahead and buy a set of beading tools and then replace the ones I use
the most as needed.

Enjoy the blisters and calluses raising beads will raise in the palm
of your hand too. That sore, blistered, aching hand is the mark of a
pro stone setter. Wear it like the badge of honor it is, and show it
proudly! And try not to flinch when your customer shakes your hand in
thanks for doing such a fine setting job.

Snap off a section of bandsaw blade a couple of inches long. If you bend-snap the section it will need flattening and this is done with one steel hammer in the vise as an anvil and second hammer striking from above. I snap right on the front, vertical face of a tooth

Test the beading tool scratch stock on a scrap and adjust to size as needed. To use the tool, pull or push (or both alternately) along the wood, first passing lightly to get the exact course, and then more heavily to deepen in the cut.

I no longer use spray equipment but used to use a full spray rig and then when hvlp sprayers came in I switched to that and liked it for sparing different finishes. Today I no longer use any type of commercial products like nitro-cellulose lacquers and such. i prefer more natural finishes like shellac and also water-based finishes, which have come a long way. i apply even water-based finishes with a rag and wipe it on in super-thin coats to the full coat I want. Because of this, I can finish right on my bench, i have no overspray problems and I do not need any specialized equipment. i also like to use a brush application on some finishes.

Derived from an early, generously proportioned Stanley No. 66, it has a polished cast Bronze body and Bronze blade clamp. Two fences are included, one for curved work and one for straight work, and can be adjusted along the slot across the bottom of the tool.

The Beading Tool comes with seven double-ended blades for a total of 14 different profiles for beading, reeding, and fluting. Also included is a double-ended blade blank that can be worked with files to make your own shapes, which makes quick work of reproducing small pieces of molding for repair or restoration.

Although the modern electric router is a universal and useful tool, many woodworkers will find the Beading Tool handy and fun to use for making a wide variety of decorative moldings, beading, reeding, and fluting with a minimum of fuss.

The Beading Tool comes with a straight fence, which is used for most jobs, and a curved fence which is used when the edges of the work are not straight. Both are adjustable in the slot across the width of the bottom of the tool.

Polish the Bronze parts with any good Brasspolish, or enjoy the patina that develops with age and use.Oil the blades to prevent rust. We recommend Jojoba Oil, a plant based oil product that is non-toxic, odor-free and easy to use.

Sometimes a needle and thread is only half of what you need to make a bead weaving design. The large variety of beading tools available can be overwhelming, but a few suggestions might help! Soon your beading tools will feel natural and easy, just like they are a part of your hand. Did you ever see that movie Edward Scissorhands?

Before I really knew about stringing beads on wire I thought a person could get by with just squeezing a crimp tube closed. But now I know the fine art of crimping and how much better a piece looks when done the proper way! Crimping pliers have jaws with two notches: one collapses the crimp tube, the other shapes it.

This might be a weird one, but I find myself using these more and more in my bead studio. I mostly use them for cutting braided beading thread, but I use them for lots of other things, too, like cutting felt and plastic and yarn.

This little tool was originally designed for sculpting wax molds, but beaders found a great use for it. The tip has a tiny heat element that works perfect for cleanly trimming thread close to beadwork.
