We’ve implemented a summary display for multiple choice components and scored components. A multiple choice summary displays a bar graph that shows how many students in the class chose a specific choice. A score summary displays a bar graph that shows how many students in the class received a specific score. The score summary will display for any component that has been scored whether it be auto scored or manually scored.
Teachers can view the summary for all multiple choice components and scored components within the Classroom Monitor. All they need to do is go to a step that contains a multiple choice or scored component and click the “Step Info” button at the upper right. Project authors do not need to author anything to make the summary show up in the Classroom Monitor.
Multiple choice summaries will look like this.
Score summaries will look like this.
Project authors can also show multiple choice or score summaries to students within a project. All they need to do is add a Summary component to a step.
Then tell it which other component to display the summary for. If the multiple choice item has a correct answer, you can choose whether or not to highlight the correct answer.
The students will see something like this when they get to that point in the project.
Below is what it looks like when the correct answer is not highlighted or if there is no correct answer for the item.
We hope you find this new feature useful. For more information about how to author the Summary component, please see the WISE Authoring Tool FAQ Help Documentation. If you have any comments or feedback please let us know.
