Hi folks,
We hope that all is well!
Today we'd like to tell you about the Public Notebook. The Public Notebook allows students to share notes with each other. These notes can contain text, images, and student's work on actual components like drawings and graphs. Once a student shares a note, it gets displayed in public "spaces", where other students can view, copy, edit, and use them within their own project. We have been working on this new feature since March 2018 on
a separate branch, and we plan to merge this into the main branch and use it in a live classroom soon.
When I open up my notebook, I can see the "Public" space next to my "Personal" space. Here, I will see all of my classmates' public notes. In this view, there are public notes of drawings, a graph, texts, and an image:

To add a public note, just check the "share with class" option when creating a new note. In this view, I am sharing my drawing:

Now, my classmate can view and import my drawing via the "Copy from Public Notebook" button. Here, another student went to the same drawing step and is about to click the "Copy from Public Notebook" button:

When they click on the "Copy from Public Notebook" button, they will see all of the public notes, including my drawing:

When they choose my "I'm so pretty!" drawing, it is imported into their own drawing canvas:

Now they can edit it to their liking:

Tada! This shows one possible use case of the Public Notebook feature. We think that will make WISE even more collaborative and allow for new kinds of research.
Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
