Very cool Citizen's Jury type process, here in US...

Hi all,

I wanted to let you know about a state-wide, random selection Citizen’s Panel on Covid that just took place in Michigan...  https://citizenspanel.us/

while this is different than Jim's Wisdom Council model in some significant ways, it's a great Citizen's Jury type project...

and, I think it's super helpful for 1) pointing to how, given the appropriate conditions, "regular ordinary people" are able to rise to the occasion and come up with very sound policy recommendations;

and, 2) It also shows how under appropriate conditions, people with different political perspectives are able to work together effectively...

Along the lines of the latter (rehumanizing one another) , there are two powerful documentaries  that have been making the rounds--

the first is a great video on Purple America. It was designed, hosted, and facilitated by  the non-profit Resetting the Table https://www.resettingthetable.org/

then there's another great video, Divided we fall... the folks who made it are working to create a movement around it... https://www.dividedwefalltv.org/

and, the Citizens' Panel on COVID (at the beginning of this email) will be coming out with a documentary about their process soon...
