REGISTRATION:
Center for Victims of Torture (CVT) free training September 20, 2024, 9 AM – 4 PM
At the James P Coughlin Center in Oshkosh WI
In the US and across the world, for four decades, the Center for Victims of Torture (CVT) has been providing interdisciplinary, holistic services to refugee trauma survivors. Two of CVT’s staff members, Ally Beckman, MSW, LICSW, and Amy Kamel, MSW, LICSW, will present a training on working with refugee trauma and torture survivors. In addition, Dr. Sebastian from Sebastian Family Practice in Milwaukee will be available to provide local context.
Topics covered will include information on the psychological impacts of torture and trauma, relationship building, and other considerations when working with this population. This training is appropriate for a wide range of providers working with refugees, including refugee resettlement workers, mental health professionals, legal professionals, first responders, law enforcement, educators, health care staff, local and state government agencies, advocates, and policymakers.
Please forward this to anyone else you think might benefit from the training!
THANK YOU Shannon. Much appreciated.
We value our partnership with you.
Nancy
