What ho! What ghost from yonder summer speaketh?
Why it’s Lakes of Fire’s friendly area Info-bot, a.k.a LoF’s
Communication Team, hollerin’ at ya from G.L.E.A. Inc! Who knew? It’s
already time to start thinking about Lakes of Fire 2015! After all,
the effigy burns in under 257 days!

Dates for 2015 are not 100% finalized yet, but your friends at
G.L.E.A. Inc., the Michigan-based 501(c)4 social welfare organization
that facilitates Lakes of Fire, are moving forward with a fairly safe
assumption that next year’s event will take place from Wednesday, June
17th, to Sunday, June 21st, 2015.

THEME POLL AND EFFIGY DESIGN CONTEST
In Release the Kraken’s community feedback poll, you gave us dozens of
outstanding themes to choose from for 2015, and many others that were
at least interesting.
At the Lakes of Fire organizer’s retreat in September, we picked our
five favorites - now YOU get to choose the winner!
One animal. One vote. Voting on the theme poll will go through October

Do you love designing, building, and burning big art? Do you have some
great ideas for an effigy? Would you like somebody else to help pay
for it, and would you like to work with a team to help make this
vision come to life? The Lakes of Fire Effigy Council loves to do all
that, and we are calling out for designs for the 2015 Lakes of Fire
Effigy!
The Effigy Council is looking for an effigy idea that has to do with
the theme of this year. But have no fear, if your idea doesn't
directly correlate to the theme, thats ok, submit it anyway. The Theme
is meant to inform and inspire - but if you have a great idea that
will just knock the socks off everybody, send it in!
The Effigy Build Team is a group of individuals who have an idea they
want to build as the Effigy at LoF 2015. Previous build teams have
built a tree, pyramid, whale, factory and a big ship! What’s your
idea? Let your imagination wander and come up with a fantastic idea.
If you are part of a team, super - but a team is not required to
submit a design.

G.L.E.A. BOARD MEMBER NEEDED
Great Lakes Experimental Arts, Inc., 501(c)4 is seeking a
highly-dedicated volunteer to join its Board of Directors. The Great
Lakes Experimental Arts, Inc.'s Board of Directors is the
public-facing arm of our event. They help ensure Lakes of Fire is
legal, sustainable, and produced by a functional organization. Every
year, one or two Board positions open and new members are voted in for
a three-year term.
An ideal candidate would have some experience volunteering with Lakes
of Fire as a Team Lead, or at least a Shift Lead volunteer in previous
years. Technically, however, there are no prerequisites for joining
our Board of Directors, other than a deep commitment to seeing Lakes
of Fire continue to thrive.
If you feel your experience with Lakes of Fire has resulted in a keen
'big picture' perspective and desire to serve the organization and
attendees through this vital role, consider clicking the link below to
