ART GRANTS: This year’s recipients!
Lakes of Fire and the Great Lakes Experimental Arts, Inc. 501(c)(4)
that run it are thrilled to announce 2015’s art grant recipients.
The Art Grant program has grown from a budget of $3,000 to $12,500 in
just four years! And that doesn’t even include our Art Honorariums for
existing art!
Ticketholders past and present: it is quite literally YOUR MONEY that
funds these awards, so on behalf of G.L.E.A., Inc. AND the funded
artists: THANK YOU for contributing to Lakes of Fire.

Lakes of Fire happens, in part, through the hard work of a few bold
soldiers known as the Department of Public Works. We focus on
providing the infrastructure, power, and grunt necessary for the event
to run smoothly.The DPW reminds you that if it's not yours, don't mess
with it. Things put in place by LoF DPW, like signage and safety
barriers, are there for a reason. Please respect those things and
avoid damaging or altering them, lest you be damaged or altered.

PERIMETER NINJAS: Protecting our community!
Lakes of Fire' awesomeness inevitably draws curious thrill seekers
without tickets. Gatecrashers are a direct threat to LoF's continued
efforts to grow as a community and provide a safe environment for
ticketed participants. In response to an increase in gatecrashing
incidents, the Department of Perimeter Ninja's (PN's) have been
summoned! We call passionate LoFers to service in protecting the
perimeter boundaries. The liabilities surrounding this role are higher
than any other we've previously encountered. PN's may have to interact
with LEO's, Board Members, or unruly gatecrashers or participants.
Level heads, professionalism, respect, compassion, and sobriety are
necessary character traits needed to solidify our ranks. Conflict is
also a possibility. Keeping emotions in check, sticking to the facts
while still maintaining autonomy is of the utmost importance! Does DPN

NO PETS: Sorry.
After careful consideration, it is resolved that ONLY American's with
Disabilities Act (ADA) Assistance Animals will be permitted into the
Lakes of Fire Event. ADA Assistance Animals do work or perform a task
for the benefit of an individual with a disability. Lakes of Fire is a
private event and is not legally required to allow Emotional Support
Animals or Emotional Service Animals (ESAs) to accompany any
individual. ESA's have no more rights than a pet and are not protected
by the law to accompany any individual into any public or private
space that does not allow pets. ESAs will not be allowed into Lakes of
Fire.

DECOMMODIFICATION: Down with commercial exploitation!
In order to preserve the spirit of gifting, our community seeks to
create social environments that are unmediated by commercial
sponsorships, transactions, or advertising. We stand ready to protect
our culture from such exploitation. We resist the substitution of
consumption for participatory experience.
Aside from the landowner’s sales of ice and firewood, there is no
selling of any goods or materials at Lakes of Fire. You cannot hawk
your wares. Period.
Lofers don’t run the whole world, but when we gather together, we seek
de-commodified means of sharing, rather than commodified methods of
exchange. Think creatively about how you can remove the “bottom-lines”
of others from your Lakes of Fire experience.

Lakes of Fire encourages the individual to discover, exercise and rely
on his or her inner resources.
When we go camping together, we have to come ready to survive. We are
