Mental Health Task Force Update

This is a reminder that nominations are due this week for the Milwaukee Mental Health Task Force Karen Avery Award. The award will be given to an individual who captures the essence of Karen's legacy of selflessness, work ethic, and humor in working to seek justice for people with disabilities. The award will be presented September 10^th at our Summit on Recovery: “Understanding Recovery: Health Home Purpose Community - Making Our Lives Better.” The Summit Save the Date is attached and registration will begin later this month – details will be on our web site at www.milwaukeemhtf.org

We have received nominations for some truly outstanding advocates, and welcome any additional nominations. The suggested deadline is July 15 – if you were planning to submit a nomination and need a little additional time, please let us know by replying to this email. See attached for information about the Award and the nomination process. Thanks to all who have submitted nominations for this new award honoring the legacy of Karen Avery, a great champion for the rights of people with disabilities, and a treasured friend and mentor to so very many.
