Emily and Mike,

I spent a morning with the education and outreach leaders of the Boston Museum of Science earlier this week as they are interested in developing more effective diversity outreach programs, which leads me to want to connect them to the same Institute for Diversity Science I wrote to you about last week.

As a follow up, Annette Sawyer asked me if I would contact folks at UM Boston (and I'm adding in Lowell, given its excellence in STEM) about an opportunity for your students: a networking session with Akamai.  Could be a fine opportunity for them.

I hope you can spread the word to the right people on your campuses.  For more details, please see the attachments.

Cheers

Kathere

Hi Annette,

I know you were asking this morning about who I have reached out to at Tufts regarding student recruitment for the Akamai Mentoring Evening.

Patricia Blumeris was the contact you gave Donnette. I reached out to her on Friday, but haven’t heard back yet. As I mentioned, we only have one Tufts student currently registered.

Please let me know if you have other contacts you would recommend I reach out to at Tufts for student recruitment, or if you’d like to reach out to anyone directly, feel free to do so! If could copy me, that would be great.

Thanks so much!

Chelsea

Good morning Patricia,

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I am new to the Museum of Science, and will be taking over the management of student recruitment for our Women and Girls in STEM 2.0 Akamai Mentoring Evening on Thursday, November 9. I know Donnette McManus had previously been in communication with you regarding this event.

I wanted to check in with you to see if you have any students who may have expressed interest in this event. We currently have one Tufts student registered. Please continue to send any interested students my way!

I am here as a resource—please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide you with, or if I can answer any questions. I have attached the Student Registration Form as well as a one-page info sheet for the event. Feel free to share these with students.

Thank you very much for your partnership in this effort! We would love to have Tufts be well-represented at this event.

Have a wonderful day.

Best,

Chelsea
