Every time I launch the mytaglist app it crashes my Yamaha receiver.  After a bit of research I have concluded it is based on the apps request for ssdp discover command when it is executed.   This command is not present when you launch the web based mytaglist version thus I suspect it is not required.    Is the ssdp discover execution required or can it be removed?    The same problem was found in the Netflix ios app and when disclosed to netflix they removed the call from the app.

Here is my evidence for the find.
Image 1 contains the data I  pulled from y network.  As well as here is information of the netflix app causing same problems. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-receivers-amps-processors/1408245-official-yamaha-rx-v673-thread-7-2-channel-network-avr-126.html

I am checking with Yamaha if anything can be done to protect their receivers against this network call   which causes the receiver to go offline and requires and power cycle to reestablish connection.

This is the same thing that happens on my network with my denon receivers.  They all lose their network connection when I launch the app on my local network.  If the receivers are playing an internet audio stream they will stop and not reconnect, all my network control apps also lose their connection with the amp and need to be reconnected.  I have opened a support case about this but see no progress.  Can something please be done??

We should be able to add a settings app bundle (configured from settings app) for this kind of special options like disable sending this packet. The next iOS app update should contain this.
