Hi All,

I find it hard to believe that no one else has thought of this and created a solution. So before I go out and buy the Wireless Tags system, I wanted to grab some advice:

I have four heaters connected to WeMo switches. Currently I have them switching on and off at certain times of the day. (I can do all of this with the WeMo app)

HOWEVER!!

As soon as you want to add a temperature condition to my current setup, it becomes a Holy Grail search for a solution.

I just want to keep the time conditions on my heater switches but if the current Temperature is below 22 Celcius.

Can anyone adivse whether this is possible? With Wemo/IFTTT/WirelessTags?

Yes this is possible I have a similar setup with Energenie Smart Plugs. I use IFTTT to switch the heaters on/off depending on the temperature from the wireless tags. Been running like this for 2 years.

Thank you, however, do you have a time condition in there as well?

Eg:

WeMo socket switch on at 06:00 if Wireless Sensor Temperature tag is below 22Celcius?

Then switch off Wemo socket at 07:00 regardless of temperature.

Many thanks,

Joel

This is possible, but you will have to write a KumpApp for this. I have actually been trying to get similar functionality.
I am brand new to javascript and kumoApps, so I don't have a solution.

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind regarding active-time-windows:
1) checking sensors only at certain time of day:  https://groups.google.com/d/msg/wireless-sensor-tags/Zkr-XMVC4r8/BeWdx8-RAAAJ
2) I have been trying to use KumoApp.tick, with NO success. see this thread: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/wireless-sensor-tags/MV3nbpJFKqc/ofhn8-0MBQAJ

You have Wemo switches, so this should be easier for you, as they are integrated with Wireless Tags. My switch is SmartThings, so I cannot integrate directly, I think I would need to use IFTTT.
If you or anyone else comes up with a good solution, please post here.

I'm new to this stuff, so I'm spitballing, but could you use an IFTTT Date and Time trigger to set the temperature thresholds on your tags? So at 6, set the low threshold to 22 C and the high to whatever your desired temp is; at 7 set the low threshold to something absurdly low so that it will never fire. Then set up some IFTTT triggers to turn the WeMo switches on/off based on the "Temperature is too low"/"Temperature returns to normal" triggers.

The only annoying thing about this is that you'd need something like 4 IFTTT triggers per room. You could write a KumoApp to handle the setting of the temperature thresholds all in one go, but I still think you'd need something separate to manage the on/off per room.
