sensor for measuring DC voltage?

Hi,

I think this is a question to the manufacturer. Possible one has a good idea to solve this question:

Is there a chance to get a sensor which can measure for example DC current?

I wish to monitor my Solarbatterie in my summer cottage which have a DC voltage of about 12 V. Ok i can connect a sensor over a voltage-devider and use the on board measuring (3 V), but then i have to calculate the dc voltage of the solarbattery everytime. Would be only a work around.

Perhaps there is an easy way to realize because a measuring around 3 V is already on the chip.

I would really appreciate that feature too. I was wondering if the external temperature probes were simple analog devices, then it should be possible to hack something together that scales the voltage enough to connect it like a temperature probe and signal off that. So 12v is 120° and 10v is 100° or something like that. Not sure if anyone ha done that yet.

Any kind of current is difficult to measure without having a resistor in series and measure the voltage. Even if you do that, you will run into problem with isolation and safety if the circuit involves high voltage. Google tried to do it before with Google Power Meter they cancelled it maybe because hardware too expensive/difficult.
