OK, at first I was using the regular wireless tag on my garage door and it wouldnt work for obvious reasons.

Now I have the Pro tag with acccel. and it worked fine for the first few days and now no motion is being detected. Communication is working fine.

I have it set to door/gate mode and tried sensitivity ranging from high to low. I also tried re-setting tag states.

Any tips to get this thing to report open/closed states again?

Hi Justin,

Do you happen to have the motion sensor option set to "when door has been opened for x minutes..." then noitfy? If so, this problem is caused by a recent server code update (for better implementation of the "opened for x minutes" option by not triggering IFTTT&KumoApp opened event until the time has passed, but a bug was introduced so the tag opened state did not get saved), and was also reported by another customer and was just fixed about 12 hours ago. Please report if you still see this problem.

Justin,

I also have the 13 bit tag on my garage door and it has always worked perfectly to alert that the door is open/closed.  I also use the KumoApp to "Send push every x minutes from door/window open until closed".  It has never failed once support treated the app slightly. It has been running for months and months without fail.  I am currently in Switzerland on a home exchanger with exchangers in my home.  All my doors (and refrigerator) are alerting me when they have been opened/closed, and by way of the KumoApp, for how long.

I have also encountered your problem with the KumoApp to arm/disarm tags when away from home.  Never works for me unless the app is running in the foreground. I finally just gave up!

I would like to speak with you once we're home about your mailbox situation.  That is one that has been a challenge (metal box). Just doesn't want to work. Neither a 8 or 13 bit tag.

Thanks,
Sam

They had a bug in the code recently and it just started working again last night.

Are you using the accelerometer pro tag in the mailbox? You need that one for metal environments. You could try the new ambient light sensor coming soon, it should be able to alert when the mailbox gets opened from sun light.

I wasn't aware of any code issues as mine have been going strong with the KumoApp.  Perhaps I missed some events the last couple of days then if the code was hosed earlier.

I am using the 13 bit temperature and humidity tag, not the Pro.  I have always believe it was a distance issue for me, as the older 8 bit worked sometimes. I only have one tag manager located in my home and the mailbox is located on the street 100 or so feet away.

Justin. Are you still having good luck with your tag and mailbox arrangement?  I'm interested in finding out which is the better choice for metal mailboxes. Accelerometer or Light Sensor??

Thanks,
Sam
