Versions of app software? Updating?

In Motion Sensor Armed -> Options, right below "Mode: Motion Detection Mode", my colleague using an Android version of the app sees an option "Notify when no motion is detected after a timeout period." I don't see that option via my Android app. I'm guessing we have different versions of the app. Is that the correct explanation?

Is there somewhere we can look to see which version number of app we have? What's the most recent version? And what's the recommended process for updating to the current version?

It is because of different version of tag firmware. Tags shipped after late-2014 have "version 2.1" firmware which supports that option (motion stop notification by firmware). All 13-bit tags have that option.
