Planning ahead in case my tag in the freezer can't last at least a month.
My thought is to use some flat cabling and put battery power for the tag outside the freezer.

Have not taken my tag apart yet as I first want to see how long it will last.
I realize that any support and/or warranty would be gone and that's ok.

The tag works exactly as I had hoped so I'm hoping that the battery issue in -20C can be overcome or ends up being a non-issue.
If I can get 30 days out of a battery I will be very happy.

I like planning ahead, hence the reaching out for comments and ideas, just in case needed.

Any cable you use would interfere with the door seal, so that probably isn't recommended.  Might be worth replacing the CR2032 with a BR2032 battery.  They are intended to operate over a wider range of temps (i.e. can handle lower temps than CR2032) so that might be enough for your needs.

Thank you Pete.
Will try the BR2032 before tearing into the tag.
BTW, the cable I planned to use was the flat type used by several remote fridge thermometers, but hopefully I won't have to.
