I stumbled upon the wirelesstag sensors via some discussion threads and they would work GREAT for some of my applications if they can integrate into openHAB (which I think they can, just a bit hacky based on some threads on openHAB, which is great!), most importantly I need these sensors to work offline.

Being able to access the sensors over the local network (lets say there is no internet or there is very spotty/unstable internet, or NO internet at all); I have seen multiple requests for this on the support forums but the wirelesstag support team to me appears not to want to work with their customers and implement these requested features, or at the very least put them on the roadmap.

It would be great if this worked similar to what Philips does for their lighting system, they have the Hue Bridge which you can access locally without internet and it is very successful and can be used in many different applications.

Please consider this request, it would truly put wirelesstag on a whole new level and then take my money. :) I am among many others that are holding out on buying these sensors until such an option is implemented or considered. Come on guys.

Thank you.

I also understand that part of the reason why this is cloud only is because most of the processing happens on the cloud to extend the battery life on the sensors. Shouldn't the ethernet tag manager be smart enough to handle these processing, or sell us a beefed up tag manager that can process the logic locally.

Unfortunately it would seem that they have no interest in doing this.  Has anyone reverse engineered their on-the-wire protocol?  It should not be too difficult to code a replacement for their cloud server.  With that added capability I would would pick up a lot more tags.
