External Power Sensor "USB Temp/RH 7" dead

I have an External Power Sensor "USB Temp/RH 7" which stopped reporting and won't take a charge.  I can't find instructions on how to pry open the case and don't want to break it to try and do factory reset...

I have created a support ticket, but want to ask if anyone else has this experience.

I managed to pry open the case, and it doesn't look good inside.  See pic https://photos.app.goo.gl/d34x9BuXXdpkgJHx6

To open the case, simply ply open the back cover (one with no hole) from the edge of the USB plug.  After that the 5 holes for factory reset (https://store.wirelesstag.net/pages/support#factory_reset) can be located along the opposite edge of the circuit board.  The reset instruction is the same (you need a power either from battery or USB)

Tried cleaning it up, then reset and still dead.  Would you like me to ship it back for FA?

What is your order number? If it is shipped within warranty period (1 year) we will email you a return shipping label.  What do you mean "cleaning it up"?  Is there like mud on the circuit board? If you see any kind of sign of corrosion (e.g. greenish copper rust) then the hardware is for sure damaged.
