One of my reed sensors started being "out of range" and unreachable via "update"; the last reading from a week ago had 80% battery (this is still the battery that came with the sensor).

I just ordered a replacement battery to try that -- is it normal to fail within a few days from 80%?

Thanks in advance for any advice,
Hein

After you take out the battery, please look at the battery negative terminal contact (silver colored circle on the circuit board). Do you see a yellow tint or some kind of film on it? If you see then it is baked on flux residue from the PCB assembly process. Use a sand paper to scrape some off, or if you have a soldering iron, you can try to put a fresh piece of solder bump on it. Let me know if this is the case.
