Canvas related issue with IE

Experts,
              I am trying to connect 2 jsbox in a portal environment(Liferay Portal) .
This works fine on  FF..But having a tough time with IE8.. The boxes render fine but I don;t see the connecting wires..I am using  WireIt-0.5..
The Debugger says   "Object doesn't support this property or method "  at line "el.getContext("2d").clearRect(0,0,width,height); " in CanvasElement.js

Also "if(typeof (G_vmlCanvasManager)!="undefined")" returns false..

Any pointers to this would be of great help..I am not sure if I've given sufficient data about the issue..Pls let me know if I need to provide more info..

Can you reproduce the bug outside the Liferay portal environment ?

After adding  excanvas  library to the head section the issue is resolved..Thanks you so much.
