Open source release roadmap?

We were wondering if you could provide any guidance/plans on whether you expect to make further open source releases of WiredTiger as it evolves?

Hi Ian,

Thanks for reaching out. We do plan to make further open source releases in the future, though have not got a concrete plan on when to cut the next release. 

Is there any new feature or ticket you are waiting to be released?

I'm sorry for the slow reply! For some reason I am not receiving email notifications from the group.

All good, we are not waiting for any specific ticket.  

We're migrating our application onto WiredTiger (currently we run on BerkeleyDB), so my roadmap question was really to find out if there were any significant changes in the pipeline we should know about.

On the feature question, we do make use of serializable transactions so it would be great to see that on the product roadmap. However, I think that model was actually explicitly removed from WiredTiger a few years back, so I assume it is not a consideration. For our migration, we have built our own minimal locking manager to address that requirement, so it's not a showstopper for us.

Hi Ian, 

Not a problem!

Actually I don't believe WiredTiger had ever supported serializable transaction previously (there's a short period around 2012 when "serializable" was listed as a config option but transaction isolation was not implemented at that time). 

The only 3 isolation levels currently supported are read-uncommitted, read-committed, and snapshot.
