Just couldn't stop myself replying after watching this clip.
Sikhism came into existence to save others from inequality and disrespect.
I know we are trying to make world aware of Sikhism but this clip (definitely not a real instance) depicts a Sikh helpless and dependent on others for his safety and respect.

Let us think before we circulate any mails.

I agree with your thinking and appreciate that you raised this point.

 

But if we check the street reality today, there is a need of this video to be watched & spread across because it holds very true to the quality of the Sikhs available around. I am not trying to judge & label everyone out there but I get a feeling that strong Sikh spirits in the majority of the Sikhs these days is missing. People can’t even hold and wear a proper turban on their heads and present themselves as respectable Sardars and you cannot expect them to display the kind of courage of taking a stand in a hostile environment. Just having anger and not possessing proper skill may turn table back on you and get you a thorough beating and even worst.

 

Sikhs today are trying to be more like the herd than like Sardars. The foundation of Sikhism was built on high moral principles of saint soldiers and only handful of today’s Sikhs follow that in true essence of it.

 

An introspection, how many of us are prepared physically and are mentally elevated for such an action against racist attack or behavior.

 

My take of this is that you can’t fight this menace of racism without proper physical skills and making use of it when required.

 

Most importantly using media to educate and get educated & after watching this video, there is also a need of feeling guilty for many of us who see themselves in the high esteem of Sikh spirit.
