It seems that there are many users who have difficulty uninstalling programs like BitTorrent Web from their systems. Some experience issues during uninstallation, whereas other encounter problems after the program is removed.
There could be other causes why users may not be able to uninstall BitTorrent Web. An incomplete uninstallation of a program may cause problems, which is why thorough removal of programs is recommended.

where you give the name of the application
waithidden "pathname of system folder\MSIExec.exe" /x name of key whose (value "DisplayName" of it as string as lowercase starts with "7-zip") of key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" of x64 registry /qn
This certainly seems to confirm my suspicion:
Neowin uTorrent is moving to your web browser with its next major updateuTorrent is currently distributed as a standalone client - but the next major version will run in users' default web browser, promising an improved user experience, and a broader range of features.
BitTorrent program is a P2P & File-Sharing Software that can be installed and performed under Mac OS X, it integrates seamlessly with the web, and supports the user to download high-quality digital items like videos, games and musics quickly. If you need to uninstall BitTorrent for some reasons, please make sure you follow the right way to conduct the application:
Although it sounds like not so difficult to remove the program on computer, some people still unfortunately gets some problems when they try to uninstall BitTorrent on their Mac computers, such as the program cannot be removed in the most general way (dragging to the trash bin), or cannot totally remove the installed files of it. If you are searching for a good way to avoid these problems and remove this BitTorrent on your Mac, please refer to the following instructions.
Many people are very familiar with the Windows operating system, the uninstall feature in Control Panel is the most common way that many people choose to remove the unwanted application; in Mac OS X, there is not such a particular feature that available for the user to uninstall BitTorrent and other programs, instead, it provides a easier and faster way for the program removal: just drag the program (normally in Applications folder) or file to the Trash, and empty it.
Please note that many people may think that the program is just removed when they finish the step one, but the fact is, there are many files still being left on the computer and requires you to find and clean out all of them manually. Dragging the program to the Trash usually cannot remove the associated files in Library folder, to totally remove BitTorrent on the Mac, you should take the second steps to complete the program removal.
Osx Uninstaller is a OS X based uninstall utility that allows people to remove any installed applications on the Mac computer, and all of the removing processes and steps are greatly simplified, and people can easily utilize the remover to uninstall BitTorrent
Cleaning a program completely is not only for avoiding any issue with this application, but is also important for your computer maintenance, the leftovers will not continue to take up the hard disk space, mess up the system structure or create any conflict issue with other applications.
and your NAS is ......? Asus?
Migration of settings from BitTorrent Sync to Resilio Sync is done automatically only on Syno, WD and QNAP. For all others Resilio Sync is a new app. But you have option to move the settings manually. This will require ssh connection to NAS and some bash skills - moving files around.
Ok, I have migrated it, but I can't change listening port. It has been changed by itself, and over it there is a message with a orange triangle that says "connection settings overwritten by config". What does that mean?
If you want to change web UI port then ssh to your NAS and edit "share/HDA_DATA/.qpkg/ResilioSync/resilio-sync.conf" file, change in webui section "listen" : "0.0.0.0:14860", from 14860 to whatever port you want it to use. But in this case I guess you'll need to manually type the new port into address bar, since Appcenter will still remember default webui port.
I have already migrated, but I had a heck of a time. The NAS instructions said to "stop BitTorrent Sync", but I never did find out how to stop it. I just uninstalled BitTorrent Sync knowing all my files were safe on another device, then installed Resilio Sync.
Migration was not easy as was implied in the instructions and e-mails I received. I really appreciate the help available here, and value Helen's and other's efforts. My point here is that more clear instructions on the websites would be very helpful for some steps, is possible.
My Resilio is now running ok in my Qnap nas, but there is something strange that happened before migration, and I hope to be solved with new version. In my laptop, the Resilio app sees the nas duplicated. If there is only 1 peer (the nas) the app shows 2 peers, the nas (with its name) twice. Sometimes it says "peers 1 of 2" and one of them is offline, and sometimes, they both are online. And act as different peers, the number of pending upload files is different, and one of them syncs before the other (not always the same one).
By following these steps, you should be able to completely uninstall BitTorrent from your system. Remember that uninstalling BitTorrent does not affect the downloaded files themselves; they will remain on your computer unless you delete them separately.
But, a month ago i moved from BitTorrent Classic to BitTorrent Pro (the paid version) and i never had the problem again. I can now use BitTorrent Pro without any problems, because Bitdefender Total Security does not block the app. And i still don't know why Bitdefender blocks BitTorrent Classic and does not block BitTorrent Pro, although they are from the same company and BitTorrent Pro is the same as BitTorrent Classic, only with extra futures. Just to mention that in my case BitTorrent Pro is NOT added to the exception list.
Yesterday, all of a sudden, Bitdefender decided not to allow Bittorrent to open, even as an exception. I foolishly uninstalled Bittorrent, then tried to reinstall it. Bitdefender considers this installation as an attack, and scrubs it.
To expand on the subject name.. Im having some problems with DL and UL speeds and want to try a reinstall to see if it helps but i want to know if i uninstall and reinstall utorrent do i have to restart the partially downloaded files??... its only because i have a limited amount of downloads each month and dont want to have to restart the whole download
No just uninstall Ut won't kill your download. Now if you delete the App/data folder in the user folder it created that will stop and will start your torrents from 0 again. Also don't delete the incomplete downloaded torrents as this will also force Ut to start from 0 again as well. So just uninstall and reinstall a newer version of Ut and start Ut again and make the needed settings to match the new Ut program and that all you should need to do. If there are more problems check the link on my signature.
I recently downloaded a free trial of mbam pro in order to do some cleanup on my pc. It had been a while and I knew that it was time for a virus scan. While active, mbam would display messages about blocking particular ip's which were in use by bittorrent. After my viruses had been cleared, i figured i would remove mbam and just download a standard version later. However, after removing it, I still can't download any torrents. I was wondering if there might be any residual files (registry files or something arbitrary) that might need to be deleted in order to get bittorrent working again. If there is anything you guys could suggest, please do, cuz I needs my torrentzzzz, thanks lol.
Malwarebytes does not stop bittorrent files from downloading, it will however block some connections if they are known to be hosted on a site that has or spreads malware. You can read through this KB article that will explain it better HERE. That being said, if you want to uninstall Malwarebytes completely just follow the instructions below.
1. Reinstalled BT.. but it still will not uninstall in Control Panel/programmes and features.. all that appears is a box telling me that i dont have sufficient access to uninstall BT and to contact my system administrator !.. very strange ?.

I uninstalled BitTorrent from my pc and security still detects the PUP. I'm lost as to what to do now. Idk what I downloaded to get it. I do sometimes download PDF from google search. Maybe from there? There's nothing I downloaded recently that I can recall other than mobo/gpu updates, some things off Microsoft store, some twitch extensions for chrome, and the occasional pdf off google search. How do I get rid of this?
Hi, SpaghettiOS.
Welcome to GTG Forums.
You say "security still detects it". What is the security software you use? Isn't there an option to send the detected file to quarantine?
