Hello Vaclav,

Since last time I posted, I've been able to get winsparkle working with my c++/cli project. Hurray! Thank you very much.

My question at this point is, on your 'why winsparkle?' page (http://winsparkle.org/blog/why-winsparkle), #4 says, "Must not require admin privileges. And no constantly running background service either. (Hello,  Google!)" - I took this as meaning 'must not require admin privileges to install updates'. What I am experiencing now is that Winsparkle has no problems downloading updates (a .msi file for me) but when it is being executed, a dialog box still comes up that says something along the lines of "do you want to allow system changes from an unknown publisher?". I can still install the program but that is because I have administrative privileges. I am wondering if a user without administrative privileges can do so as well.

I get the feeling that your original point does not include admin privileges for installation...regardless, I'd love to hear your 2 cents on this.

Thank you in advance for your time,

Lok Tin

WinSparkle itself does not require admin privileges. How does your installer behave is up to you and WinSparkle couldn't possibly do anything about the way your own executable behaves. I would think it's obvious that WinSparkle does not have — and *cannot* have —  any control over *your* app and installer.

Regards,
Vaclav
