Hi,

I am reviewing the master branch for potential use in an animation product. I see that 64 bit support was added, and it downloads through the app now. Nice.

I myself come from a Mac background. I don't have a lot of experience on Windows and none with wx.

I see a previous post from 2011 brought up localization and the poster was directed to the wx Internationalization page.

I read the page. It looks like localized files can be added without recompiling the binary, if I understand correctly. If not, then that would be a roadblock for us.

I don't quite know what to do with the section named "Getting It Inside Your App" - since our app isn't itself a wx app. Is this something that can be done in the dll? I see some kind of language effort in the settings.cpp file - DoGetVerInfoField().

Is this connected?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Eric Long

My plan is to embed them in WinSparkle.dll's resources, for ease of deployment, but as always, nothing prevents you from customizing it.

Yes, WinSparkle acts as an application from wx's point of view.

No.

Václav,

Thanks for the reply.

Just so I am clear...

Does it require recompiling the dll in order to add localizations?

Not necessarily. Read MSDN documentation on what resources are. Ask Google about "edit win32 resources".
