Akaash Vani musically amuses you, soothes you and a little irritates you too. Overall it has an engaging soundtrack full of youth-ness in it. Hitesh Sonik has done an impressive job though I had expected more melody in the songs. After a super hit lyrics of Ban Gaya Kutta, Luv Ranjan took the full responsibility in delivering words to the album and he has done a tremendous job. I give this album a

I have a theory that life has its ways to remind you to live your life not just commute and pay the bills. Life works its magic right in the middle of the mundane when you are jumping from one check box to another. Though I used to be very attentive toward these nudges, off late I had surrounded myself with just my work and my responsibilities. (There are some reasons or excuses)
And a couple of weeks ago, the magic happened. We had fixed one radio interview for one of our clients. Since it was the first such interview of my career and for the client, I went to oversee or to staff (as we say in PR parlance) the interview. It was one of my regular days at work till the moment I entered the main hall and saw those huge radios (we usually see them in B&W movies) and small transistors. When I saw those recording studios, those almost photograph-like paintings of Lata Mangeshkar, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, and many more, I felt an old connection with them. And all the music (nothing fancy, simple Hindi movie music) coming from the speakers transported me back to my childhood and reminded me of a little girl who used to carry her radio almost everywhere. Yes, I used to be that girl.
I used to be a quiet child, mostly found in a corner with my HW, or any other book, and of course my radio. I mostly lived inside my own head with a background score and that score was played on my radio. I cannot recollect but I had named my radio as well. At that time, there was no FM or Private or internet radio stations, there were All India Radio and Vividh Bharati only. From 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, I remembered which station would play Hindi movie songs at what time. I can still recognize most of the songs from their prelude and can give you names of singers if not lyrists and music directors. I can still hum along to most of the Hindi movie songs, that came out in the 90s. Yes, I used to be that happy and musical child.
The visit to the AIR studio has left an indelible mark on my heart, and I find myself unable to suppress a contented smile. The encounter with my past self has stirred something in me. It has reaffirmed my belief that life's subtle reminders are often our guiding lights to help us live a passionate and full life. I urge everyone who is reading this to break the monotonous cycle of routines and tick checkboxes and to feel life the way you want to. Get in touch with your inner child; try to remember and re-kindle your source of joy. Let the magic happen!!
