Spyder language settings?

Hey everyone!

I'm new to python, new to WinPython, and new to Spyder. So much more to learn... :-)

I hope I'll have a quick and easy start... Recommendations for first-time tutorials will be more than welcome.

In the mean time, however, I have only a very simple question - where are the language settings in Spyder editor?

Not the programming language, but rather the actual human language. 

My windows isn't in English, and Spyder installed itself in the default OS language, and I can't figure out how to change it back to English...

The language is choosen in \WinPython***\python-***\Lib\site-packages\spyderlib\baseconfig.py
==> You may try this :
- backup the baseconfig.py file (in case something goes wrong)
- open it and change line 190 (in my version) :
from 
        lang = locale.getdefaultlocale()[0]
to
        lang = 'en_EN' #locale.getdefaultlocale()[0]

- save the modifed baseconfig.py and relaunch winpython.
(on my pc the menu of spyder switch then  from 'fr_FR' to 'en-EN' as expected)

The cleanest way to do this is to create an environment variable named "LANG" and set it to "en":
LANG=en
