Unable to update Scipy under WinPython

I tried to install scipy 0.12.0 under WinPython 2.7.3.3  (Windows 7, 32 Bit) but haven't been successful so far:

Attempt 1: Use WinPythons packet manager with admin rights and scipy-0.12.0.tar.gz -> Installation stopped after a while, complaining about missing path ...\scipy-0.12.0\dist\*.*  (see attachment) which is true (subdirectory dist doesn't exist) but I have no idea what it means. Old scipy version is deinstalled by now.

Attempt 2: Downloaded and ran scipy-0.12.0-win32-superpack-python2.7.exe. Installation stalled with the error messages "Python version 2.7 required which was not found in the registry." I have registered WP using the WP Control Panel and I also tried to execute the superpack from the WP Command prompt.

I ran into similar problems with traits, simple packages installed fine using the package manager or the command prompt.

Any ideas what might go wrong?

Hi Christian,

I had the same error message as you trying to install a different package.
Using "pip install" instead of the "Control Panel" solved the problem.
