Changes from WinPython 2023-04:
- Infrastructure:
- python-3.12.1
- python-3.11.7
- New Packages:
- for python-3.12: numba-0.59.rc1 + Torch-2.2.0dev
- Upgraded Packages:
- polars-0.20.0, pandas-2.1.4, bokeh-3.3.2
- keras-3.0.1, streamlit-1.29.0
Areas of particular interest for testers:
- python updates,
- WinPython-3.12.1 has now
- 550 packages vs 600 for WinPython-3.11.7 and 500 for WinPython-3.12.0
- with still torch "dev", numba "rc1 with disclaimer", multidict "anticipated patch"
- .. Python is released each year in october, but will the eco-system take 4 month to catch-up ? or 6 as last time ? (numba+torch being the usual last ones)
- ... re-reading the[ shannon plan](
https://github.com/markshannon/faster-cpython/blob/master/plan.md), it started one version later, but mostly on track on dev, so if the target was right, we may get an up-to 66% boost in 3.13
next build:
- more 3.12 packages
