Hi Group,

I was wondering if anyone has had problems uploading the compressed
swf files generated from wink onto youtube. I have created an
interactive video of our product, with the flash buttons embedded
throughout the video.

However when I upload onto youtube, my 4 minute video seems to be
reduced to a mere two seconds in length! Has anyone else had any
problems with this or even better any solutions on resolving the
issue. I have tried uploading the files onto our website, but the file
size of the SWF file is causing problems with my FTP connection to
webhost as it keeps timing out.

The file I have uploaded is located at the following:

Any help would be greatly appreciated

That happened because YouTube does not support interactive SWF files
such as the one you uploaded. Instead, YT treated it as a plain video
file, extracted all the frames that it could find inside the SWF (all
the while ignoring any interactivity-related elements such as buttons,
cursors etc.) and reencoded them in this unsatisfactory result.

treated your input file as a simple video and tried

Hi

I was beginning to think that was the root cause of the problem, do
you know of any other alternative sites which will allow this, I ahve
tried esnips, but the quality of the video playback is very poor.

Hi
I'm afraid the swf files Wink produces are not viewable on their own.
They have to be run through a browser.

However -some people have changed the saved format of the swf files
and edited them - look in the posts -someone discussed this in detail

Hope that helps and welcome to the forum.

Chris
