Hi, I'm a student and recently discovered "outliners" like TheGuide
and KeyNote last year. However, one thing disappoints me with
practically all that I've tried: the lack of ability to automatically
create links.

WikidPad is the only software I've found that handles link creation
automagically. All I have to do is surround a word (or even a phrase)
in square brackets [like this] and presto, it instantly links either
to the existing page, or to a new one if it didn't exist before. I can
then doubleclick to go to it or right-click and open the page in a new
tab. This really helps me keep things flowing when I'm taking notes.
(I could also use CamelCaseWords, but I don't like that and usually
disable it as it sometimes makes links out of words I don't want)

The main drawback of WikidPad though is weak formatting tools. It's
pretty much limited to bold, underline, italic, and header level. No
images, and more importantly, no highlighting.

Can such ability be added to winguide?

Well unfortunately I am running way behind schedule even with a
(seemingly) modest load (I blame my bad work/life balance for
this :) ) So even though this seems to be a good idea I can't promise
anything for the time being. Thanks for your input anyway.
