Hello Family and Friends!
So many exciting busy things are happening down here! The Lord is
blessing so much.
Marilyn:
It has been in my heart to start a Pathfinder club. We see over and
over, that the future of the church in this area is within the youth.
However, I am not a experienced pathfinder or pathfinder leader,
having participated in pathfinders for only a couple years when I was
young. The district lay pastor called a meeting after church
yesterday to say he wanted to send some youth from our churches here
to the national camporee in 5 weeks! Yikes! Of course the church
would like to send them, so pathfinder leaders were elected and plans
made to jump start our pathfinder club. The pathfinders and leaders
will be working hard in the next 5 weeks to earn the money needed to
be able to go to the camporee. They all need bus passage, food and
uniforms to tune of $300. Please pray for us as we work to help the
church start their pathfinder program to reach the youth in the
villages of Tronquera and Santa Rita.
In their first day of bake sales, the club raised $10. They are
planning to do bake sales twice a week until it is time to go. They
will also have some work days where all the club members will work
together to earn some money.
Are there any pathfinder clubs who are interested in a mission project
of helping another pathfinder club in Nicaragua? Let me know.
Are there any old pathfinder uniforms (green skirts or pants and white
shirts) sitting in closets? Would you like to send them down?
Manuals? Honor patches? Scarves?
The Lord blessed our first few pathfinder meeting went well. We
started learning our Basic First Aide Honor. As well as some of the
other neat things that the pathfinder program has for the kids to
learn.
Please pray as we continue our fund raising and our new meetings.

Clint:
Yesterday we got a call at 10 PM: a man in nearby Santa Rita was
bleeding from his nose. He was 49 years old and had been bleeding
since 6 PM. I got dressed, and drove the 15 minutes to Santa Rita. He
couldn't walk, they carried him to the truck. I drove just over an
hour to the hospital, hitting blistering speeds of 20 mph for a few
seconds before going to first gear and creeping through deep potholes.
The smell of fresh blood was stronger than the cool night air blowing
in the open windows. I woke up the doctor at the hospital. The man's
blood pressure was normal, but he was still bleeding.
It was midnight by now, and I had to be in Waspam anyway to pick up a
dentist in the morning. To save a hotel, I slept in the truck.
Unfortunately, I forgot bug spray so had to sleep with the window's up
and got quite warm. I checked on the man in the hospital in the
morning. He was doing OK, but they were still running tests. I picked
up the dentist and drove just over 1 hour back to Tronquera. He pulled
30 teeth on 18 people, our village is happy. I flew him back to Waspam
(8 minutes) late in the afternoon.

Our visas for Nicaragua expire every 6 months. We leave to Costa Rica
the end of this month to renew them. We have to leave the country and
return. This time we will drive our truck the two days to Managua. Its
engine is not doing very well, it needs rebuilt. This is going to be
expensive, but the truck is essential to our operation. We will leave
the truck to be re-built in Managua and take a bus down to Costa Rica.
We hope when we return it will be done and be ready to drive back
across the country to get home.
The aviation program is getting busier. We are working twice a month
with Dr. Linares and his wife Maria (RN), who are doing mobile clinics
for us. We fly them and drive them around to different villages.

Sincerely,
Marilyn and Clint
