AIX Administrator

Location: Pleasanton , CA

Project Duration: - 6+ months

 

Job Description :

·        Provides overall support and maintenance of operating systems and network connectivity for all AIX systems.

·        IBM p-series server administration

·        AIX installation and configuration

·        AIX Logical Volume manager (LVM) management

·        AIX and Linux User management

·        Experience in Systems P LPAR and Hardware Management Console (HMC) management

·        Experience in AIX cluster (HACMP)

·        Well knowledge in trouble shooting in AIX/NIM/

·        knowledge in NIM server installation /configuration/recovery of NIM client

·        Basic knowledge of SAN – EMC/SVC/Hitachi

·        Experience in printer configuration and troubleshooting printer related issues

·        Provides overall support and maintenance of operating systems and network connectivity for all AIX systems

·        Monitors system performance on a daily basis to ensure adequate response times for production applications.

·        Establishes and documents procedures to ensure data integrity including system fail-over and backup/recovery.

·        Provides reliable backup services. Conducts routine hardware and software audits of AIX servers for compliance with established standards, policies, configuration guidelines, and procedures.

·        Provides recommendations to management on changes, upgrades, and new hardware as required.

·        Provides support to vendors and application programmers as necessary.

·        Maintains current operating systems and patch versions that comply with vendor requirements.

·        Coordinates hardware repairs with appropriate vendors on supported platforms as necessary.
