Sr. DB2 DBA
Work Authorization: Any
Location: Lakewood, CA
Duration: 6+ months
Must - Requires recent experience with DB2 V10 on z/OS.
• Utilize real-time database performance monitors such as BMC Utilities,
analyzes the current operation of databases and identifies actual and potential
database problems and recommends and/or implements solution to ensure high
availability and optimum performance.
• Familiar with database utilities like RUNSTATS, REORG, LOAD etc.
• Implement physical database changes based on logical data models or as
submitted by project team.
• Migrate database changes from development to QA and production.
• Refresh databases as requested.
• Plan for database growth and changes (capacity planning and change
management).
• Work with the development and testing teams for performance analysis and
benchmark testing of applications.
• Maintain database documentation and standards.
• Implement and maintain database security.
• Maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures using Recover
Management. Knowledge of DB2 z/OS based high availability capabilities.
• Participate in a full production (24 x 7) on-call support.
• Participate in afterhours support when necessary.
