For those who've been with our SF class a while, you will remember Dan. He would be in class most Mondays up until last August.

Here's a photo of him training with April.

He got sick last August and eventually learned he had cancer. Sadly he passed away on Sunday.

Dan will be sorely missed. I really enjoyed his light-hearted attitude, paired with his competitive spirit. He was a wonderful addition to our class, a bridge between us and the Oakland school and all around wonderful person. I know I enjoyed chi sao with him and I could see many others did too.

Rest in peace brother,

Henry

For those of you who knew Dan:

1) There will be a dinner next Wednesday at Chilli Padi in Oakland Chinatown to honor and remember him. For a lot of us at East West Wing Chun, Dan was family, and we wanted to come together to commemorate him.  If you were not on the Facebook invite list and would like to attend, please let me know.  Here's the info:

Wednesday, March 29th

7pm - 9pm

Chilli Padi Restaurant

366 8th Street

Oakland, CA 94607

2) We are collecting donations to give to his daughter, who is currently a senior in high school.  This has got to be the toughest year she had to go through, and we wanted to help her with some of the expenses of college.  Please see me if you would like to donate.

3) On Monday, I'll bring a card to sign if you would like to send your condolences to the family.

Thanks,

Yin
