I write this with chills across my entire body…I’m sorry to say that our dear friend Mark Ortmayer passed away last night. I know this comes as a complete shock. As I hear more I will pass it along.

Horrible news — Marc always brought such knowledge and wit to our tastings. My condolences to his family who must be devastated. Let’s raise a glass next time we meet.

Hi Everyone,

What is the feeling on holding the tasting this Thursday or would people prefer to postpone? Also, not sure of the schedule around Marc’s funeral. 

I could do any month but January if we decide to postpone.

I recommend we pause till January and establish a permanent seat for mark at the next tasting with the proverbial sheet on top of the glasses

I am conflicted whether to honor Mark by pausing or holding our tastings. I will follow the majority's wishes.

My opinion is we pause then honor Marc at the next (January?) tasting. I might be able to host in January as it looks like our trip is near the end of the month.
