Hello UUWASC!

Yes, its been a long time, but hopefully that means we will see a good
number of your flushed faces on Saturday around 6pm (is that the cold
or the wine??)

Sydney and I are looking forward to having everyone over to revive
Wine Club in its original form:

Tasting (drinking) of Cotes du Rhone
Brief, hopefully informative, lesson
Game time!!

We sincerely hope everyone can arrive by 7pm so we can have maximum
participation in all the fun - and maybe order pizza :)

Details Recap:

Saturday, February 21 @ 6pm

509 Macon Street
Apt 2 (top black buzzer)
A train to Utica

Wine: Cotes du Rhone

We have fortuitously chosen a most appropriate wine for the month of
February (even though V-Day has passed) - see preview lesson below:

Côtes du Rhône are the basic AOC wines of the Rhône region, and exist
as red, white and rosé wines, generally dominated by Grenache (reds
and rosés) or Grenache blanc (whites).

Roquemaure, in Cotes du Rhone, is known as "La Capitale des Amoureux",
or "The Capital of Lovers". In 1868 the relics of St. Valentine
arrived after being purchased from Rome by Maximilian Richard, a local
dignitary as it was believed that the relics would protect the vines
from phylloxera which ravaged the vineyards in 1866. The relics are
kept in the 14th century collegiate church and each year the St
Valentine Festival of the Kiss attracts over 20,000 people.

Hello UU-Wascers,
I just want to say that it was a pleasure to see so many of you! Thanks a million to Eren and Syd for being so gracious and opening up their home. You guy's rock!
It was great catching up and sampling more of the wines from Côtes du Rhône. I don't know if you guys feel the same way but I like sticking to the specific region of a country. Mainly because it allows the pallet to taste how the grapes and taste of each wine differ within that one area. Anyway, I just want to say once again that it was great seeing everyone and I look forward to the next one.
Take care,

Esteban Duran
