READ ME! Wine Club Turns TWO in BK on SATURDAY , September 27 @ 6pm

The people have spoken! Rather than a field trip, this weekend we will
celebrate our anniversary (quite fittingly I think) with a traditional
meeting at me and Syd's place, in which we will settle the age old
house wine debate: Merlot or Cabernet?
And the only way it can be answered is by your palates! We'll do a
blind tasting of Merlot and. Cabernet Sauvignon to figure out which
varietal you really prefer. Bring a bottle of either varietal - or
both!. Try to ask your wine guy for something that is pretty
typical/classic.
It's been two years we have been tastings different varietals,
regions, etc. and all this has only highlighted how much wine tasting
depends on each of our individual palates. So let's start refining
those babies!
We are upping the educational factor this weekend with tasting notes
on each bottle, an info-filled lesson (with video feature!), and
samplings of the various foods that are typical to the taste/smell of
red wines (berries, chocolate, etc.) to improve your palate. We hope
you leave knowing which grape you should order the next time you're
ordering that house wine. And you can tell the anti-Merlot snobs to
shove it (with confidence and without pretension, of course) if that
ends up being your winner.
