Ithappened to me a day ago, since I didn't find answers i had to do it on my own. But I will tell you. When you have a damaged video or some kind of archive the premiere wont let you export, so you gotta find what archive is and delete it or replace it, that way premiere will let you. (My issue was that i couldnt export and premiere said: "Unknown issue")

i've continued to have this problem and it kinda sucks, i have to hand in the project tomorrow, but rather than not being able to export it mine will export the whole thing and then at the end just come up with some error i've tried to solve this problem (i thought it might be to do with file size as the video is was exporting was a little over a gigabyte but after reducing it to 400mg and still nothing i dismissed that theory) I also read that it could be to do with file corruption and the exported part of it that i was sure wan't corrputed and it worked! I then did the other part seperatly and that worked too, so i will probably just put them together in windows 'video editer' or something stupid. Honestly though this is one of my first times working with premire pro and in the couple hours i've done i have encountered a significant amount of bugs. Multiple times i have had to restart premire pro because everything just stopped working! (this is the 2021 version btw). I am pretty disspointed as many people say its one of the best video editing software out there, in terms of functionality and cool features yes but i encountered too many bugs for me to really suggest it to anyone.

Also the file that i thought was corrputed was really wierd as when i played it inside the applicaiton every now and then it would come up with that wierd tv static type sound and the whole black and white static stuff on the scrren. At first i thought it was premire pro being stupid with the rendering inside the app and that it would be fixed in the export but apparently it was bugged or something

Please help me too. When I export my video, it's only exporting the 1-second video instead of the whole 16 mins minute. I have to submit my project tomorrow. I also try selecting all items and exporting but it's not working.

I did exactly the opposite of what is suggested (just trying things) and it is seeming to work every time. I unselected the clips entirely and then hit export. So far, has worked correctly every time. I don't know why.

I was having the same/similiar problem. It was opening, then not opening. Once it opened, then closed when tried exporting, and then wouldn't open again. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no improvement. For me, what finally worked was when I opened Task manger and saw the Premiere Pro process was still running. I ended just that one process, closed Task manger and tried again- voila, Premiere Pro came right up. It's not a fix, but it's a suitable work around for now. Hope this helps...

I had this problem. It turned out to be windows firewall. Go to settings for windows firewall. You can view the apps that have permission. If premiere pro is not listed, browse to its directory and add it to the list. Then check the boxes to grant permission. Voila it will now open.

I got same issue after I reset windows 10, and installed the Adobe Premier, 2020 ver 14.4. Many time unstalled and installed, didn't work. Then via creative cloud I installed 13.x ver, afater I had the issue while opening the app, following, wmvcor.dll, insisting me to install, windows media player, and windows update, media feature pack for windows 10 n (may 2020) download, after all, I was able to open Adobe premvier 13.x, then via creative cloud, upgrade to 14.4 x, after the upgrade. Adobe premier is opened.

I have the same issue. I am using it on a new machine that was issued to me (a Dell Windows 10 64-bit machine and have Premiere Pro version 14.4 installed). When I open it, either from Creative Cloud or the shortcut icon, it starts to open but it gets hung up. There is a message that says "Loading ImporterQuickTime.prm", but not sure if that's what is holding it up. It gets hung up for at least 10 minutes before I kill the program via Task Manager. Any idea what is going on?

I also have the exact same issue where I am running Windows 10 Pro version 1909 OS Build 18363.1198 on a Dell Precision 7710 with 32 GB RAM and when I start up Adobe Premiere Pro 2020 it never completes the load and seems to hang on the "Loading Importer QuickTime.prm" and never completes loading. In the Task Manager, it says "Not Responding" and will never load. It looks like I will have to uninstall Premiere Pro and load a previous version as PP 2020 is having issues.

I was editing fine, then Premiere crashed last night. Tried openning it today and nothing is happening. My other Adobe programs are working fine but nothing when I attempt to open Premiere. Can't find a fix.

Notice how there are never any Adobe tech people on these forums. This is a place where they send us to vent and nothing ever gets resolved. And to login to the forums I had to verify my identity by 2 factor authentication.

Oh really Adobe! Because people frequently break into my Adobe account to make false reports about your glitchy software! That's why you have to stick yet another time wasting step to login to my account where I have to verify a code from my email just to be able to tell you how much you suck.

I have uninstalled re-installed, rebooted, opened as Admin. and had some serious prayer. I noticed when I end the task and then try to reinstall CC states Premiere Pro needs to "Save your work and close..." Years ago I had a simmular problem with Apple. Adobe Photoshop would hold on to RAM each time I closed the program. When I reported the problem Apple told me they were aware an would fix. Now on PC this challenge arrose after the 10/15 - 2020-10 Cumulative update fr Windos 10 Version 2004 for x64 (KB4579311). I've seen this has been an issue for a while. Premier trys to open but when it gets to the Dynamic Link it stops. I've also noticed some Dynamic Link issues between AE & ME. Can't import project into ME either thru link in AE menu or accessing the file within ME. To quote Mr. Spock "Facinating."

Ok, this does reassure me, however, my files are not a horrendous mess, but Premiere is not automatically relinking the entire folder if one file from it is re-connected. I am still having to manually re-link every. subclip.

Where I think your problem might be is that more than one file is acceptable. So it searches. Finds an appropriate file, and when it searches for the second file, it finds the first file. So it stops completely.

Notice how my proxy files are listed above my HQ files. This is so when premiere pro starts searching for folders, it will look through the proxy folder first. I have it set up this way, because I am taking this photo at a point in my project where I wanted to link the proxy files to my work instead of the 19201080 files that I will use later in the render.

I have a brand new Dell xps 9570 with an intel core i7, 16 gb ram, nvidia graphics card. Running windows 10. I downloaded and installed premiere elements and photoshop elements bundle from Dell. First time I installed, everything seemed good. I used premiere for a couple hours, tried out photoshop, and all worked well. The next day premiere would not start and photoshop had a weird freeze when using the guided editing. I Uninstalled and reinstalled the previously downloaded files. Premere and photoshop both opened fine and I used each for 5 min. THen I closed the laptop and an hour later tried to open premiere again and it won't open.

When I try to open it, the welcome screen appears and starts playing it's promotional videos, but when I click on "video editor" or use the drop down menu to select "new Project" nothing happens except a blue bar appears on the video editor button for a few seconds.

SOLVED: I realize this is an older thread, but in case someone else comes looking for the same issue here was what I found. I am running an older copy of elements (ver 15) but was experiencing exactly the same issues I was seeing people post about the newer version - I would get the purple box for a few seconds and then nothing, and if I used the launcher, the blue bar animation on the Premiere Elements button would just run forever without launching the application.

I remembered having a similar problem with a game I had recently installed and found out this was the issue:

Windows 10 made some security changes a little while back and if you are using the anti-ransomware feature called "Controlled Folder Access" Windows will not allow some applications to access/edit/create files or folders in protected areas, including your Documents folder. Premiere Elements normally creates a folder named Adobe in your Douments folder and uses it to store things like your media database, temporary (scratch) files, etc. and can't if the anti-ransomeware has not been told to allow it. To fix it, do the following:

1. Click the Windows 10 Start button

2. Click the Settings (gear) icon.

3. Select the Update & Security icon.

4. Select Windows Security from the navigation panel at left.

5. Select Virus & Threat Protection.

6. Under Virus & Threat Protection, select Manage Settings.

7. Scroll down until you see the section Controlled folder access, and click on the Manage Controlled Folder Access link for it.

8. Select Allow an app through Controlled folder access.

9. Click the Add an allowed app button at the top and select Recently Blocked Apps from the dropdown list that appears..

10. Look for any entries listing Premiere or Adobe tools (There was a license manager, update manager, and Premiere itself on mine) and click the + button at the left of each.

11. Close out and try relaunching.

Mine fired right up after adding the apps to the permission list. Part of the problem stems from Adobe assuming that it's OK to create files in your User profile folder instead of where you actually installed the software. My OS drive is an SSD with limited space, so I normally install my apps to a larger HDD instead, and had enabled the anti-ransomeware feature when it came out (recommended). Hope this helps others.
